SILVER CREEK — A person was reportedly struck by a semi truck on Interstate 90 Thursday.
One lane of westbound traffic was closed near Silver Creek due to the incident, which was reported around 3:30 p.m. and occurred between Allegany and Hanover roads on I-90 in the town of Hanover.
A medical helicopter was requested to the scene.
It’s not known how or why a person was on the Thruway at the time. A fire official told county dispatch that the victim had been struck by a semi.
Photographs posted to social media showed a line of vehicles, including several large trucks, at the Silver Creek exit.
No further information regarding the incident was available by press time Thursday.
